Many of us are impatiently waiting for the season to begin. We tie flies late into the night, and even though it doesn’t get light until around 8 a.m., our nights are too short, punctuated by sudden awakenings, nightmares of fish getting away, tippets breaking… And yet, as soon as we can, we feed our obsession by leafing through magazines… but above all by scrolling through our phones or, at best, watching fishing films or finding ourselves here…
But all this is a bit like the substitutes we give addicts to avoid withdrawal symptoms… What we really want is the real thing, to be at the water’s edge, rod in hand, watching our fly descend into the right current, tense, ready to strike at the right moment! But we’ll have to wait a little longer than the three weeks between now and the opening… For us, it will be sunny days and the first warm weather… So to tide you over and give you something to chew on while you wait for “dinner,” here’s a gem that will keep you busy for a good hour and fill your restless nights… Oregon!
Oregon is best known for Steelheads and coastal rivers, but here it’s Cutthroats and Rainbows that are the stars! And that feeling of freedom and wide open spaces that we love so much. Enjoy the film, and if that’s not enough to calm you down, you can always watch it again or obsess over how you can get there and go fishing in Oregon!

” Sometimes the most unexpected fly fishing adventures leave the greatest impact. This film documents a series of fly fishing trips across Oregon, exploring everything from coastal rainforests to high desert trout streams and mountain valleys. Filmed over the course of a summer, this is a wide-ranging look at native trout in Oregon, including rare cutthroat trout and trophy redband rainbow trout. Oregon fly fishing is incredibly diverse, and this loose collection of outings only begins to scratch the surface. From dry fly fishing in desert canyons to cold, clear water flowing through forested landscapes, each expedition revealed just how vast and surprising the Beaver State can be. I had no idea what I was getting into until I started casting. “
