In this episode of Loop Fly Fishing Adventures, Rolf Nylinder heads north with his friend Håvard Stubø in search of wild trout, dry-fly fishing, and the legendary Vulgata mayfly hatch.
The plan sounds simple enough: get to the right river at the right time, spot the mayflies, and fish to rising trout. But nature doesn’t really stick to a schedule.
With spring arriving earlier than expected, Rolf and Håvard spend a week bouncing between rivers and lakes, hunting for the right combination of water temperature, weather, insect activity, and rising fish. But the big hatch they’re waiting for stays elusive.
