Shopping List #23 – Summer

Got more time to kill online than to go fishing? Makes sense, we’re having a crappy summer. Not that it’s not sunny — quite the opposite, it’s damn hot — and unless you’re lucky enough to be after cyprinids, we’re going to try to leave the trout alone, at least where the water shortage is really biting and the water temps mean giving the fish a break… But then there are those heading up to the mountains, or lucky enough to have reservoirs regulating flow, and then there’s everyone else having fun with chub, barbel, or carp! And then there’s another category: those who just dream while browsing our Shopping lists! So, for everyone, here’s something to keep you entertained!

PETZL ARIA 1 R RGB Heading out for the evening or morning bite, you need to know where you’re stepping on the way to the river, and be able to see when you’re packing your gear back into the car… Basically, your phone isn’t your best friend here — you’re often low on battery, but the main reason is having your hands free! With RGB, you can choose the color of the light (handy for staying discreet and not blinding your buddies…) $64 Available in 3 different colors.

The Hat That’ll Give You Some Shade! With its wide brim and sun-protective fabric, but mostly for the price, it beats a cap — it protects you more, and even though it’s waterproof, you can still dunk it in the water before putting it on your head to cool off! Comes in several colors: 25$

Fiido Titan Hunting E-bike It’s vacation time and you can hop on your bike to go fishing — but more than that, you can load up all your gear (let’s be reasonable here…), or at least your bag, your snacks, and your boots, because it’s summer, and you can climb hills, sneak down trails, and ride home in the evening with the headlight on, without wearing yourself out! The Fiido Titan is exactly what you want! 1650$ and you can add plenty of accesories!

Patagonia : Sandy Cay Shorts. You can wear them all the time — whether wading wet in the river (that’s about all that’s left for you at this point…) or just being comfortable wherever you find yourself, at the sea, in the mountains, or in the countryside! Basically, anywhere you want to stay cool and comfortable! Ultra-lightweight shorts, they dry super fast, they’re stretchy so they’re extra comfortable and practical, with two zippered pockets (one at the back and one on the left leg — super deep so you can fit a waterproof fly box in there…) The front pockets are also deep, with a loop to clip on a zinger or forceps — it’s the ideal short for rivers or tropical flats! Available in two colors $99

Salomon Techamphibian 5 – Watersport Shoes No need to introduce the brand — pretty much every mountain person knows and rates their gear. But this particular shoe is perfect for wet wading, or really any activity where your feet end up in the water and you need a good sole plus fast, efficient water drainage! Available in 4 colors. 83$

Universal Portable Moka Coffee Maker – The dream of every coffee lover — take your moka machine anywhere! There’s nothing like savoring a super-strong espresso, with just the right bitterness, while taking in nature — and WITHOUT LIGHTING A FIRE! Pull your Universal Moka out of your bag, add your ground coffee, fill it with water, and plug it into your battery! The magic is about to happen! When you hear that little bubbling sound, it’s ready — time to enjoy your espresso! (with the coffee you actually like, of course!) The machine can make up to 6 cups, but the battery lets you make more! 40$— what wouldn’t we give for a real espresso by the water’s edge!
