What the hell kind of garbage summer is this? I don’t know what it’s like where you are, but here in Southern France and the surrounding area, the water’s running like a dude who hasn’t had anything to drink all day takes a leak — basically nothing. And the temperature? Have you even checked? The Tarn coming out of the Gorges, near Mostuejouls, was reading 69°F!! So yeah, you’re gonna need to find something to do, and don’t count on the snooze-fest that is the Tour de France to keep you entertained… best case, it’ll keep you company while you nap.
Instead, we’re gonna keep you entertained with something actually “useful” — featuring our favorite, Jean-Paul Dessaigne, who’s going to show you how to tie a killer fly for Bombyx season!
And then there’s the legendary Palmer French Tricolore by Henri Bresson, the fly everyone was using back in the ’80s — the queen of flies, floats perfectly in the current, and you can spot it at first glance, courtesy of 6 pieds sur l’eau!
To your vise — and as soon as the heat breaks and the water levels come back up, you can go give them a try!
