The term “Salaryman” in Japan defines the employee — often underpaid, overworked — who, through the self-effacement of their personality, keeps the company running. A company to which they are devoted and indebted, since it provides them with a salary, a job, and a place in society. One could say it is quite a pejorative term. The life of little worker ants in society. But it is also the title of a short film by Noah Regan, which we highly recommend watching — it’s brilliant! And besides, the feeling of freedom is priceless!
