At Le Mouching, we’re not completely oblivious and solely obsessed with fly fishing (and we think that’s one of the reasons you follow us…). We love nature, food, music, reading, and anything out of the ordinary. But above all, we love freedom, but freedom in a sport only comes after hours of training and practice, and that’s what allows us to achieve happiness.
So, this similarity with fly fishing, this self-sacrifice and constant practice to evolve according to what nature offers us, can be found in this film about snowboarding. Practice, training, self-sacrifice, starting over, freedom, and finally, the happiness that comes with self-confidence.
For Nicholas Wolken, turning is much more than the basis of snowboarding. It is the simplest expression of what this discipline represents. From his professional beginnings to the design of boards specially designed for turns, he has devoted much of his life to seeking the intense sensations of carving on snow. Turning is certainly a simple movement. But when the body, mind, and board become one in a perfect turn, simplicity takes on an almost supernatural dimension.
