We had the luck to meet Jean-Paul Dessaigne as we were shooting the film South Brittany on the Fly. It was in spring 2020, just at the end of the COVID lockdown. We were so excited, at last we were free to move and get together! At first it was weird to be able to be with the friends you only got to see on Skype at the time, or on the phone. The rivers haven’t had seen a single fisherman, the world was ours! Romain Le Teuff, introduced us to Jean-Paul who spent the day with us, rod in hand.
What struck me was his kindness and his generosity. He brought us, Solène Le Bourhis, Romain Le Teuff and myself, on Le Petit Doré, a river that runs slowly through the countryside of Brittany. And than, he opened his flybox! What a festival!
