I was fishing last weekend for the first time this season. A beautiful sunny Saturday, little wind, really felt like spring. Because of the early season, I was fishing with wet flies. A nymph on the tip and a wet fly that I got in Ireland.
I must also say that I was testing my new rod! A Guideline Fario CRS in 9 ‘#5. A jewel! I’ll have more to say in a few weeks after my first real outings. But my first impressions are good!
So, I was fishing a large vein of water, when suddenly… I was getting my leader up to the surface, when a beautiful spring salmon came up to see what was going on up there. And then he got back to the deep water and I didn’t see it again. That’s all.
So I’ve found a great video where the guys catch salmon going up on their flies! And in incredibly clear waters. Enoy the movie my friends!
