All too often, we fishermen indulge in the consumption of alcoholic beverages while on the river. And there are good reasons too: the water we wade is cold, the fish elusive, the wind plays its tricks. There’s a branch overhanging just where the leader is supposed to go. Our best fly is somewhere in that tree. And ever better ones: the river we love is beautiful, there’s a hatch coming soon, we finally got to fish with that dear old friend, we’ve just been blessed with a very good trout. Sometimes it’s coffee too, in the mountain’s the chill mornings. And since we’re flyfishermen, we do it in style. A good token would be to draw a Kole flask for that well deserved sip.
