This river had everything a fly fisherman is looking for – crystal clear water, a healthy population of Brown and Rainbow Trout that took dry flies freely from the surface, and scenery surpassing anything in the world. I had truly found heaven! For many a year I had been eager to return …… and after 12 years finally did so with a High Definition video camera and fly fishing expert Dean Bell. (a guide from Te Anau that knows these waters well) To my delight, this magical spot remained unchanged and provided one of natures most spectacular backdrops upon which to capture on film the very best fly fishing New Zealand has to offer. Et comme une bonne nouvelle ne vient jamais seule, en voilà une autre…regardez cette bande annonce pour  »The Dead Drift »: Il y a plusieurs années, j’ai pêcher une rivière magique au milieu de Fiordland en Nouvelle-Zélande, dans l’île du Sud. Cette rivière a tout ce qu’un moucheur recherche, une eau transparente, une bonne densité de farios et d’arcs qui prenait avec voracité des mouches sèches, un paysage qui surpassait tout ce qu’il y de plus beau au monde. J’avais trouvé le Paradis ! Pendant de nombreuses années, je rêvais d’y retourner…au bout de 12 ans, j’y suis finalement retourné avec une caméra HD et un as de la mouche Dean Bell (un guide de Te Anau qui connaît ces rivières par cœur). Pour mon bonheur, cet endroit magique n’avait pas changé et m’offrait un des décor les plus merveilleux pour filmer ce que la Nouvelle-Zélande a à offrir. Les différentes techniques que Dean a utilisé pour attraper ces truites sauvages dans des situations souvent difficiles et inhabituelles nous en apprennent long et en plus nous font marrer.
