However a sunny few days meant it was at least worth a try. It was certianly good to be back out on the water A 7ft 4wt cane rod is the ideal rod for these small Westcountry rivers, capable for cast weighted nymphs and wets, as well as dries and two fly set ups. For infromation on fishing streams and river of the Wescountry it&#8217;s<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fishpassapp.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"> HERE<\/a><\/strong> !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"1170\" height=\"659\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RL0hwes1e8s?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Bit Rusty<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Most years my fly fishing starting in March, although only the occasional day or two. April sees a few more trips, so as May comes around when the fish and inscets start to properly move I\u2019m up to speed and everything is working as it should. This year was slightly different, a very wet March, a very busy April meant that I had only been out a couple times before the fish started to really look up. So when I fished a small tributary of the Wye in Md-Wales and the river was fully awake I wasn\u2019t\u2026.it\u2019s amazing how being just a little off can make a big difference. A good day on the water, but very much a case of what could have been.
