What about starting the season in Slovenia? Of course you’ll have plenty of anglers who will say “there are no wild trout there!<\/em> or Too many people<\/em> or even, not good enough, done it already<\/em>” but the truth and the matter is, Slovenia is awesome! For many reasons, first the rivers have a lot of fish in them (not saying it’s easy) and that is not always the case in Europe. The people of Slovenia are awesome! The food is great (very important) and the landscape are breathtaking! But that’s not all, there is a little je ne sais quoi\u00a0<\/em>that makes Slovenia unique, especially around Tolmin in the So\u010da basin, and that’s where I recommend you go, you’ll fish, trout, rainbows and brown, grayling and the famous Marmoratta or marble trout! Opening season is awesome there, there are not so many anglers, the water levels are good and this year, since there is not too much snow on the Alps, the water will be perfect in May!
