{"id":74881,"date":"2016-03-23T12:17:11","date_gmt":"2016-03-23T11:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lemouching.com\/old\/2016\/03\/a-tribe-called-quest\/"},"modified":"2016-03-23T12:17:11","modified_gmt":"2016-03-23T11:17:11","slug":"a-tribe-called-quest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lemouching.com\/en\/2016\/03\/a-tribe-called-quest\/","title":{"rendered":"A Tribe Called Quest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was in the early nineties, we were driving to the river in my old &#8220;Renault&#8221; a car so ugly it was nicknamed <em>the Pear<\/em>, Jeremy and Oli, my two fishing budies and I were driving down the little roads in Southern France under the sun of Spring, the begening of the season was always for us a time to get together and go try to catch some trout in the early hatches of the season. We were young and happy, we didn&#8217;t have all the gear we&#8217;re using today, we were pretty radicals, a tin box with a few flies, a rod,our waders were made of neoprene\u00a0with a boot.\u00a0In\u00a0the car we had one tape:\u00a0<em>Can I Kick It? <\/em>by A Tribe Called Quest,<em>\u00a0<\/em>and we listened non stop to that tape,<em>\u00a0<\/em>it was the only one we had, and we were like kids, we were laughng, we were free, happy, we no responsabilities, all we had to worry was to go fishing! A Tribe called Quest for something new for us, not the kind of binary rap you could listen with Scott La Rock, no, it was a new opening to a kind of rap that was more elaborated, as De La Soul, they influence was soul and jazz, and we liked it so much. Those songs were in our heads as we were catching the first trout. That was long ago. Today we would like to pay a tribute to A Tribe Called Quest, because it always set us in a good mood.
